New York 05 – Irregular Intervals

Tryon Sally waited, working her way through five cups of coffee.  The diner was nearly empty but still, Tryon made herself invisible at irregular intervals so as not to burden her waitress.  It was the least she could do.

Through the diner’s glass door, Tryon could see packs of dogs roaming the streets.  None of the dogs made any attempt to come in to the diner.  Even the ones that could now walk upright and carry a wallet didn’t even spare a glance at the interior of the well-lit restaurant.  They just weren’t interested and that suited Tryon Sally just fine.  Dogs, upright or not, scared the crap out of her.
